Livingston Fine Art Association is a Howell-based nonprofit that supports the appreciation and development of fine visual art and local artists. The organization creates opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, continue developing their skills and connect with others in the Livingston County arts community.
Throughout the year, the Association organizes art shows and exhibitions that give local and regional artists opportunities to display and sell original work. Events such as Spring Into Art and the juried Colors of Life Art Show bring artists and the public together in community venues including the historic Howell Opera House.
Education is also a central part of the organization’s work. Monthly meetings feature presentations, demonstrations and hands-on activities led by artists and artisans working in a variety of media. These programs give members and guests opportunities to learn new techniques, explore different artistic approaches and continue developing their creative skills.
The Association also works with community partners to make visual art more visible and accessible. Through partnerships such as rotating artist displays at the Howell Carnegie District Library, local artists are able to share their work with residents outside of traditional gallery settings.
Community members can support Livingston Fine Art Association by becoming members, attending exhibitions and programs, participating in art shows, and supporting the artists whose work is featured throughout the year. These activities help sustain a local network where artists can learn, exhibit and contribute to the cultural life of Livingston County.
